Hiding a solar garden light inside a Mason Jar

Hiding a solar garden light inside a Mason jar looks better than mounting it on top, it creates a clean and polished finished design. In my last post, I modified solar lights using recycled candle jars. I also used color changing LED bulbs and Flickering candle LEDs were another fun option. Those particular jars allowed me to mount the solar garden light inside the top. They worked great and looked attractive. This time we’ll use Mason jars instead. Mason jars are classic and versatile. They are strong, reusable, easy to find and their glass gives a warm lighting effect.

This version hides the solar light inside. Nothing bulky sits on top of the jar lid giving it a cleaner overall appearance, also protecting parts from weather. The hidden light gives a custom look appearing more like store-bought decor. These lights are great for patios and on decks or porches. They also brighten garden paths nicely or use them on tables for ambiance. Use several jars for party lighting and they make thoughtful handmade gifts too. The build is simple and affordable with most materials being easy to source. Basic tools handle the project easily. You can customize colors and effects by changing out the LED for unique styles. This project is fun, useful, and beginner friendly. Click on the picture to see my YouTube video…
